From Munich Airport to Munich Central Station

Duration: 1 hour
Price: DM 15,20

Upon arrival at Munich Airport, go to the Central Area (marked with "Z"), buy a ticket if you haven't one already, and enter the S-Bahn to Munich. You'll need a single ticket for four zones.

There are two trains leaving from the airport, both of which will take you to Munich Central Station. You will arrive at Munich Central Station ("Hauptbahnhof") about 40 minutes and an uncountable number of stops later. Leave the S-Bahn and follow the signs directing you to the trains ("Zu den Zügen"). Getting your connecting train at Munich Central Station will take you about 10 minutes.

Departure from Munich Airport: approximately every 10 minutes.

From Munich Central Station to Kaufbeuren Station

Duration: 1 or 1.5 hours
Price: DM 35,20 / 23,40 (1. class/2. class)

Different trains take you to Irsee. If you take an IC train, you'll have to pay an extra fee, but you won't reach Irsee much quicker. Therefore make sure you're taking either an IR or an RE train. Some train connections require that you take a connecting train at Buchloe.

At Munich Central Station, go either to the main platform or to the tracks 27-36 at the right side of the station (marked "Gl. 27-36"), depending on the train you're taking. The large panel at the main platform will tell you at which platform your train leaves. Get off the train at "Kaufbeuren"; the taxi stand is just outside the station.

Information on train connections is available online at http://bahn.hafas.de.

From Kaufbeuren Station to Kloster Irsee

Duration: 15 minutes
Price: DM 20,-- (approx.)

Look around at the taxi stand just outside the Kaufbeuren station; maybe a few other people going to EuroPLoP will look for a taxi as well. If you group together you can share the fee.

Tell the taxi driver to go to "Kloster Irsee". If there is no taxi waiting, a new one will come soon. You'll arrive at Kloster Irsee about 15 minutes later.
